We are a small, friendly club based near Ashford in Kent, the heartland of English cricket.
Kennington is, in many ways, a typical ‘village’ club even though we are now on the outskirts of a large, rapidly expanding town. Our history dates back to 1845 when our first match can be traced and we have played on our ground at ‘The Ulley’ since 1892.
Cricket is a unique sport. It combines a great deal of tradition with aspects that are ultra-modern. We intend to maintain the best traditions of cricket and ensure it is a pleasure to play for the club both on and off the field. What happens off the field is equally important to what occurs on it. We believe people play cricket for enjoyment and camaraderie, and so the social side of the game is vital.
So we hope you enjoy visiting this site and please contact us if you’d like to join the club – all are welcome. You may even like to read more about the club’s history which has an introduction by that great Kent and England captain Colin Cowdrey. At Kennington we hope that no one plays more in the ‘Spirit of Cricket’ than our little club.
